Privacy Policy
Article 1 (Purpose)
Buttersoft Inc. (the “Company”) establishes this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) in order to protect the personal information of individuals (the “Users”) who use the Saycheez service (the “Service”), and to ensure prompt and efficient handling of complaints related to personal data protection, in compliance with applicable laws including the Personal Information Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
Article 2 (Principles of Personal Information Processing)
The Company collects, uses, and processes personal information in accordance with applicable laws and this Policy.
Personal information may be provided to third parties only with the User’s prior consent, except where such disclosure is required or permitted by applicable laws and regulations.
Article 3 (Amendment of this Policy)
- This Policy may be amended in accordance with changes in applicable laws, regulations, governmental guidelines, or Company policies.
- In the event of any amendment, the Company shall notify Users through one or more of the following methods:
- notice within the Service or through a dedicated notice page;
- written notice, email, or equivalent electronic communication.
- The Company shall provide notice of any amendment at least seven (7) days prior to its effective date. However, if the amendment involves material changes affecting Users’ rights (such as changes in collected data or purposes of use), at least thirty (30) days’ prior notice shall be provided.
Article 4 (Categories of Personal Information Collected and Purpose of Collection)
- Information Collected at Registration
- Purpose: Member identification and Service access
- Items Collected: email address, password, nickname, country of residence
- Information Automatically Collected During Service Use
- Purpose:
- identification and prevention of fraudulent activities (e.g., refund abuse, hacking, abuse);
- prevention of repeated misuse through the same device;
- ensuring system stability and analyzing usage environment;
- improving service features and personalization.
- Items Collected:
device identifiers (e.g., SSAID, UUID), device information (e.g., OS), access logs, cookies, IP address, service usage records, SNS activity data (likes, search history, reports, blocks, hidden content), and push notification tokens.
- Information Collected Through Customer Support
- Purpose: handling user inquiries, dispute resolution, and processing reports
- Items Collected: email address, inquiry/report content, and attached images (if any)
- Location Information Processing
The Company may collect and use personal location information for the following purposes:
- enabling location tagging and sharing in user-generated content;
- discovery and curation of location-based content;
- map-based recommendations of popular or hidden places;
- providing kiosk location guidance and photocard printing services;
- delivering location-based advertising, promotions, and event information;
- improving services and developing new features using statistical analysis of movement patterns;
- providing location-based search results.
- Derived and Aggregated Data
The Company may generate anonymized or aggregated data derived from personal information for analytics, service optimization, and business development purposes, provided that such data cannot reasonably identify an individual.
Article 5 (Methods of Collection of Personal Information)
The Company collects personal information through the following methods:
- Direct input by Users during registration and Service use;
- Automatic generation and collection during the use of the Service (e.g., device information, access logs).
Article 6 (Use of Personal Information)
- The Company uses personal information in the following cases:
- providing notices and operational communications;
- responding to inquiries and handling complaints;
- providing and operating the Service;
- developing new services and features;
- conducting marketing activities (only with prior consent);
- performing statistical analysis and usage tracking;
- preventing and sanctioning violations of laws or Terms, including fraudulent or abusive activities.
- The Company shall not provide personal location information to third parties without prior consent. Where such provision is required, the Company shall obtain prior consent after informing the User of:
- the recipient;
- the purpose;
- the items provided;
- the retention period.
Article 7 (Retention and Use Period of Personal Information)
- The Company retains personal information only for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes of collection and use.
- Notwithstanding the foregoing, records related to fraudulent or abusive use may be retained for up to one (1) year from the date of account termination.
- Where retention is required by applicable laws, the Company shall retain such information for the following periods:
- records related to contracts or withdrawal: five (5) years;
- records related to payments and supply of goods: five (5) years;
- records related to consumer complaints or dispute resolution: three (3) years;
- login records: three (3) months.
- Location Information Retention
- Personal location information shall be retained until the purpose of collection is achieved, consent is withdrawn, or the Member terminates the Service.
- Location information included in user-generated content may be retained until such content is deleted.
- Where required by law, such information may be retained for the legally prescribed period.
Article 8 (Principle of Destruction of Personal Information)
The Company shall promptly destroy personal information once it is no longer necessary, including upon achievement of the purpose of processing or expiration of the retention period.
Article 9 (User Obligations)
- Users shall maintain their personal information in an accurate and up-to-date state.
- Users shall be responsible for any issues arising from inaccurate or false information provided.
- Users shall not misuse another person’s personal information. Violations may result in termination of membership and legal liability.
- Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials and shall not transfer or lend them to third parties.
Article 10 (User Rights and Methods of Exercise)
- Users may exercise the following rights at any time:
- access to personal information;
- correction or deletion;
- suspension of processing.
- For users under the age of fourteen (14), a legal guardian may exercise such rights on their behalf.
- Requests may be made through:
- in-app account settings;
- written request or email to the Company’s data protection officer.
- The Company shall respond to such requests without undue delay.
Article 11 (Data Protection Officer)
The Company designates a Data Protection Officer responsible for personal information processing and related matters:
